Three Steps to Lasting Love:
A Time-Limited Program for Couples

Many couples come to us with three basic problems: 

     1. difficulties with COMMUNICATION

     2. inability to RESOLVE CONFLICT

     3. not knowing how to create CLOSENESS.  

These problems are not because the couple is incompatible; rather these are Relationship Skills that the couple has never learned. Why? Because our culture does not teach these skills in any formal way, and instead reinforces fantasies and illusions about how real relationships work.

To address this skill deficit in a focused, time-limited manner, we've created a special program for couples that keys in on this trio of issues. The program is entitled "Three Steps to Lasting Love", and after an initial evaluation the program is limited to just nine additional sessions with a Relationship Institute staff member.

Here's how the program works:

SESSION ONE: Evaluation of your relationship [NOTE: although most couples will be appropriate for the program, at this point if either person in the relationship has an individual issue which would prevent the couple from benefitting from the program, the staff member will recommend a more appropriate form of treatment].

SESSION TWO - FOUR: Communication Skills Training

SESSIONS FIVE - SEVEN: Conflict Resolution Skills Training

SESSIONS EIGHT - TEN: Getting Closer: Re-romanticizing Your Relationship

In sessions 2 through 9, you will learn a specific practical tool to use at home and build up your foundation of relationship skills.  Couples will be given homework assignments with every session and will be expected to complete the program within four months.

By the end of the program, couples will possess a complete set of foundational relationship skills from which to communicate clearly, safely and constructive on any topic; resolve past hurts, frustrations and resentments; and develop a close, loving, passionate connection and companionship.
